1.  Who are the companies behind Vehicle Security Care?

Vehicle Security Care is provided through Virginia Surety Company Inc. and Automotive Warranty Services.  Virginia Surety Company, Inc. is rated 'A' Excellent, by A.M. Best; Automotive Warranty Services, as part of the Aon Warranty Group, has been administering extended service contracts for 40 years.

2.  Where is the Vehicle Security Care plan honored?

The Vehicle Security Care plan is good at any licensed repair facility in the US or Canada.  You can choose any licensed repair facility that you want.  Vehicle Security Care will pay the repair shop directly for any covered repairs above your selected deductible.  See the sample policy Terms & Conditions for more information.

3.  What does the plan cover?

There are up to four coverage plans available.  Generally, the plan will cover parts and labor to repair a covered component due to mechanical breakdown.  See the sample policy for plan details.

4.  How can I be sure future claims will be paid?

The companies behind the coverage have been providing extended service plans for 40 years and together are one of the world's largest independent providers and administrators of consumer product warranties.

5.  What vehicles are eligible for the plan?

New and used vehicles with at least one month and 1,000 miles remaining on the original manufacturer's warranty are eligible.  Any recently purchased used vehicle is also eligible.  Most vehicles that are up to 9 years old and have less than 100,000 miles on the odometer are eligible for the Vehicle Security Care plan.  This includes most domestic and import cars and light trucks.  Commercial vehicles are not eligible.

6.  What kind of vehicles are NOT eligible?

The following vehicles are not eligible for the Vehicle Security Care plan:  Commercial use; non-US specification (gray market); vehicles over 9 years old; vehicles with over 100,000 miles; parts modified from original equipment; vehicles with non-standard titles (lemon, salvage, etc).  Certain restrictions apply to specific makes and models.  These will be displayed on the online quote.

7.  Does my car have to be inspected to be covered by the plan?

No.  If you meet the general eligibility requirements, your vehicle does not need to be inspected.

8.  When does coverage begin and end?

This is an ADD ON mileage and term plan.  That means that coverage begins on the date and mileage that purchase coverage.  For example, if you have 24,000 miles on your car at time of purchase and select a 36,000 mile term, coverage will last until your car has 60,000 miles on the odometer or until the time portion of the term has expired, whichever comes first..

9.  Can I transfer the plan if I sell my car?

Yes.  The plan may be transferred to a new purchaser who will be covered for the remaining portion of the original plan.  There is a nominal transfer charge that is typically paid by the purchaser.  Please see state specific terms for more details.

10.  What are the payment options?

You may choose to pay in full or in installments.  The price shown is the "exact cost" directly from Vehicle Security Care.  While some competitors claim to offer a No Interest Payment Plan, they may actually build a finance charge into the price of the warranty.  We don't do that.  When we do offer a payment plan, any finance charges will be shown separately from the price of the warranty so you can decide which option is best for you.

11.  What do I do when I have a claim?

When you have a claim, you may take your vehicle to any licensed repair facility of your choice.  Notify the shop that you have an Vehicle Security Care extended service plan.  On your plan documents, you will have a toll free claim phone number.  The shop will call the claim department when your vehicle arrives to begin the claim process.  Once the problem is diagnosed, they will call for approval.  When the work is done, they call the claim department a final time for payment.  You can then pick up your car and will only have to pay the selected deductible.
